New Technology
DeepWell 30 is a fully-submerged, closed-loop, modular hydropower system that delivers firm, invisible, zero-carbon electricity under existing footprints—without dams or river diversion.
How It Works (General)
-
DeepWell 30 has its own sealed reservoir, operating as a closed-loop system rather than relying on external inflows.
-
Vacuum equalization: Maintains sub-atmospheric pressure in dry zones to reduce lift on return pumps.
-
Buoyancy-assisted recirculation: Injects controlled micro-bubbles into the return leg to lower effective density, cutting pump work.
-
Mechanical Pelton drive: Recirculation pumps are shaft-driven (not from the electrical bus), eliminating parasitic electrical load.
-
SCADA optimization: Coordinates reservoir pressure, vacuum, and buoyancy setpoints in real time for maximum net output.
Why We’re Different
-
24/7 firm, zero-emission baseload—no intermittency penalties.
-
Tiny surface footprint (four modules per acre; land returned to habitat).
-
Near-load siting lowers transmission/substation overbuild.
-
Modular & franchisable geometry for rapid scaling.
-
Closed loop, not water-intensive—no continuous inflow or river diversion.
-
Can be deployed under new construction such as high-rise buildings, data centers, office complexes, parking lots, or ranch/farm land, or city park.
Output & Scale
Per Module (DeepWell 30):
-
Net power: 30.61 MW
-
Daily energy: ~734.6 MWh
-
Annual (@90% capacity factor): ~241 GWh
-
Homes powered (avg. 24 kWh/day): ≈30,610 at full nameplate; ≈27,550 at 90% CF
Per Acre (4 Modules in 2×2 array):
-
~122.4 MW combined net capacity
-
~2,938 MWh/day
-
~964 GWh/year (@90% CF)
-
Homes powered: ≈110,000 at scale
Clarifier: Per-module figures represent the output of a single DeepWell 30 unit. Per-acre comparisons assume four modules per acre.
